Why 2FA is essential for law firms
Under § 2(1) BORA, lawyers are obliged to protect sensitive client data from unauthorized access. Two-factor authentication is one of the most effective measures to prevent account takeovers – even if a password has been compromised.
Step by step: Enable 2FA
1. Navigate to "Settings > Security". 2. Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication". 3. Choose your preferred method: Authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator), SMS code, or email code. 4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app or enter the manual key. 5. Enter the generated 6-digit code to confirm. From now on, a second factor will be required at every login.
